Bluefin Tuna Recipe

Bluefin Tuna Recipe Ingredients:
  • 4 thick Blue Fin Tuna Pieces - about 180g each
  • 2 Large Beetroots - cooked
  • 1 Raw Beetroot
  • 1 bunch Purple Basil
  • 1 tablespoon Peanut Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • Nigella Seeds
  • Sea Salt
  • Freshly Ground Pepper


Time: 25 min
Serves: 4

Bluefin Tuna Recipe Instructions:

  • Slice the cooked beetroots into fine round discs. Dice the raw beetroot into small pieces.
     

  • Take the bunch of basil and pick out the smaller, better-looking leaves.
     

  • Mix the two oils.
     

  • Spread out the beetroot discs on the plates and arrange in a rosette. Add the beetroot dice and season with a few drops of the oil mixture.
     

  • Sear the tuna pieces on very high heat for a few seconds with the same oil mixture centre must remain raw. Then cut the piece in half and place on the beetroot.
     

  • Sprinkle each tuna piece with basil and salt and a pinch of nigella seeds.

  • Remember to only add a little salt to fish dishes
  • If required, serve with your choice of sauce
