Fried Whitebait Recipe

Fried Whitebait Recipe Ingredients:
  • 455g Whitebait
  • 140ml Milk
  • 85g Seasoned Flour
  • Oil - for Deep Frying
  • Salt - for sprinkling
  • 1 Lemon - cut in wedges


Time: 15 min
Serves: 4

Fried Whitebait Recipe Instructions:

  • Dip the fish in milk then roll in seasoned flour shaking off the excess.
     

  • Heat the oil to 375 degrees F 190 degrees C and fry the fish in several batches for 2 to 3 minutes until crisp and golden brown.
     

  • Drain the fish on kitchen paper and sprinkle with salt. Keep warm until all the fish havebeen fried.
     

  • Serve garnished with lemon wedges with a plate of buttered brown bread.
